Georgia Kompou

Georgia Kompou was born in Limassol and she has been the first female bouzouki player for the past 40 years. She has been awarded by Global Music Awards in California for her compositions and she has recorded various records with FM Records. She has collaborated with many famous Greek artists like Thanasis Polykandriotis, Vasilis Lekas, Michalis Violaris, Natasa Theodoridou, Peggy Zena, Melina Aslanidou, Stamatis Kraounakis, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Nena Venetsanou, Mpampis Tsertos etc and one of her compositions is the soundtrack in a foreign movie. She is currently teaching traditional music, bouzouki, mandolin, tzoura, mpaglama. One of the highlights of her career has been meeting the great Mikis Theodorakis and making a videoclip of his famous ‘Zorba the Greek’
